Can Light 9-1/4" x 12-1/4" x 8-1/8" SoundBox Enclosure

SoundBox is designed to reduce sound transmission through recessed (can) light fixtures. The can light must be IC rated. Recessed lighting reduces the STC of a ceiling that results in higher airborne sound transmission. The SoundBox is resiliently isolated from the structure using two RSIC-DC04 clips, sold separately

Performance of the SoundBox relies on the added mass, damping, sealant, and isolation. Green Glue is applied between the outer MDF and interior, type X, fire-rated drywall. Seams are sealed with Acoustical Caulk Sealant.
