Most sound control focuses on ceilings and walls, but you shouldn’t underestimate the sound coming from floors as people walk over them. WhisperMat-LVT reduces impact shocks, delivering an IIC of 50 to 73, depending on the floor-to-ceiling assembly in the room. LVT sound underlayment is just 1.9 mm (approximately 1/16 inch) thick. It deadens sound from floors made from laminate, vinyl tiles and planks. Wood, cured concrete, cement backers and prepared OSB compatibility allow you to install this sound insulator on top of almost any substrate.
